Pedal Tractor Run

pedal tractor run

Between Christmas and New Year, the children and families at Broomhall and Sound Chapel (Cheshire South Circuit) organised a Pedal Tractor Run in aid of All We Can with the hope of raising enough money to purchase some chirpy chickens @ £15 and bees @ £10.

The children all decorated their pedal tractors with lots of lights and tinsel. Rhys even had a full nativity scene on the back of his tractor, while others had reindeers and Santa hats. It really was a sight to be seen.

We all met at the chapel just before dark and then pedalled the tractors down the little lane and around a few times. As it got darker the lights really started to shine which looked amazing. Some of the children where pulled along by siblings others by their parents everyone helped out and joined in. Lights were shared there was a real sense of belonging together.

After a number of trips up and down the lane we returned to the chapel for tea and cake. We had print outs of other bits we could raise money for and the children and families where encouraged to make their mark as to what they would prefer we got, which as the end of it all having raised (as Rhys put it, a "whopping") £316, we could get everything we marked. It was a really fun evening enjoyed by old and young alike. There are already plans in place for more lights and a repeat of the event for next year.

We were able to purchase:
Precious water x4
Chirpy chickens x7
Bee lieve x1
Goat for it x4
Super spuds x3
