Safeguarding training

Anyone from across the Chester & Stoke-on-Trent District who needs to attend the Advanced or Foundation Module safeguarding training has the option of attending online via Zoom.

Advanced Module
This module was launched five years ago and as such, those who attended the early sessions are now due for refresher training.

When courses are listed above, participants should register for these courses by emailing csotfoundationtraining@gmail.com
They should give their name, church, circuit and church role. For the online course they should ensure that the enrol with enough time to complete the online course.

Attendees will need to complete the preparation material before attending. This can be downloaded here. Hard copies are available from Methodist Publishing.

The online training is designed as a refresher course for those who completed the Creating Safer Space advanced training four years ago and also for those who need to complete the advanced safeguarding course for the first time. This course is divided into three parts.

Advanced Module e-learning on the online platform MCBX which is an independent learning experience. Training can be completed at your own pace in advance of the Gathered session. This takes between 4 and 6 hours depending on learning preference, and can be done in small sections or all at once. It must be completed before the Gathered session.

Advanced Module Gathered Session, which is a two-hour facilitated session on Zoom which will consolidate and continue your earlier learning. This training is designed as a refresher course for those who completed the Creating Safer Space advanced training four years ago and also for those who need to complete the advanced safeguarding course for the first time.

Advanced Module Handbook, this will support the learning during the Advanced Module (online) and is a reference point for further study and resources. This can be downloaded here and it is also available to order from Methodist Publishing if you require printed copies.

Foundation Module
Circuits have recommenced face to face sessions locally. Please contact your Circuit Safeguarding Officer for details.
