In 1818, a group of people walked from Frodsham to Halton village and sang hymns in the street. Eventually, they moved into one of the cottages and held worship there. Once the cottage became too small, they built a small chapel. Again, this became too small and Thomas Hazlehurst was asked to fund the building of a much larger church, so a piece of land was bought for £70 and the current building opened in 1875. The rest, as they say, is history!
Over the weekend, Halton Trinity celebrated 150 years of worship in the current building, with an anniversary service led by Revd Helen Kirk.
Pictured are Anne Hanks (Local Preacher) cutting the anniversary cake with Revd Helen Kirk (Chair of District).
